WINNIPEG -- A former university football player is suing Bishops University in Quebec for a severe head injury that has forced him to relearn to walk. Kevin Kwasny was taken to hospital during halftime in a game between Bishops and Concordia University in September 2011. The defensive end, who is from Winnipeg, was hit on the head and suffered bleeding on the brain. A lawsuit filed by Kwasny this week claims he saw stars, felt dizzy and had blurred vision, but was told to get back in the game. Kwasny is suing Bishops for millions of dollars, alleging coaches and others failed to protect him, did not assess his injury and refused to cover ongoing medical expenses. None of the allegations has been proven in court and a spokesperson for Bishops was not immediately available for comment. Kyle Kuzma Jersey . A urine sample collected during in-competition doping control in May revealed the presence of methylhexaneamine, a prohibited stimulant, according to the Canadian Hockey League and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport. Under the rules of the CHL anti-doping policy, the 19-year-old was assessed the eight-game suspension for a first violation for using a prohibited substance. "Player Jamie Lewis and the North Bay Battalion Hockey Club were extremmely co-operative throughout the process.dddddddddddd. We are completely satisfied that the player used a supplement, which he had purchased over the counter at a local retail outlet and had no knowledge that it contained a prohibited substance," said CHL president David Branch in a statement. Methylhexaneamine is banned in competition by the World Anti-Doping Agencies Prohibited List, which is recognized by the CHL. In Canada, methylhexaneamine is not an ingredient in medications licensed by Health Canada, but can be found in supplements. ' ' '
